Friction welding machine

The stand makes it possible to join elements permanently as a result of friction in the
area of their mutual contact. Controlled thermo-mechanical treatment taking place
during the welding process ensures high quality of joints and repeatability of welding
in a short time. The machine makes it possible to control and monitor the quality
during welding cycle. The use of friction welding in production process ensures such
benefits as high process efficiency, high productivity, very good properties of joints,
safe working conditions.
Equipment and parameters:
• direct drive with a pressure of 45 t
• flash removal after welding
• areas of welded materials for black steel: minimum: 254 mm2, maximum: 2734 mm2
• length of welded elements: minimum: 100 mm, maximum: 1700 mm
• a workpiece can be fixed in a 2-jaw chuck; maximum length of a workpiece in the chuck: 130 mm;
maximum width of a workpiece in the chuck: 200mm; maximum distance between jaws: 70 mm
• a workpiece can be fixed in a 3-jaw chuck; the range of fixing diameters: from 20 mm to 115 mm
• various materials can be welded, such as: carbon steels, tool steels, corrosion resistant steels, copper,
aluminium, nickel alloys, copper alloys, titanium, zirconium, dissimilar materials
Application:
• joining materials with various physical properties
• joining elements with various shapes and dimensions
• joining dissimilar materials using an intermediate insert made of a material that can be easily welded to
both elements being connected
• joining bars or pipes that replace machined metallic elements of structures – reduction of material
consumption
• joining structural elements, previously made of expensive metals, with bimetallic elements consisting of
cheaper metals or metals that are more suitable for practical reasons – cost reduction
• joining several elements of simple shapes (easy to manufacture) that replace complex forgings or castings
– cost reduction
• joining elements in serial production – replacement of less efficient welding methods
